Welcome to Bigfork Valley Twin Homes, a community of 6 duplex homes especially designed for comfortable senior living in an attractive, northwoods environment.

Home design

Homes are designed to be flexible: In addition to a roomy master suite, a den and 4-season porch are convertible to guest bedrooms. There is also an oversized garage and deck space for enjoying outdoor grilling.  Each quality built duplex home is approximately 2500 square feet. See the general layout.

Appliances included in the home are: washer and dryer; oven, range and microwave; refrigerator; stove; dishwasher; water softener.

Terms

Homes are rented by lease with a 30-day notice.

Tenancy requirements are:

  • Age 50 or over
  • Single pet permitted in accordance with pet policy
  • No children under 18 (except for visitors)

Services and amenities

With an included worry-free maintenance package, you are free to come and go with the seasons. Included in rent are:

  • Cable, Internet-ready
  • Lawn care
  • Snow removal
  • Building maintenance
  • Curbside trash pickup

Handyman services are optional for an additional fee.

Location

Ideally situated on the Big Fork River, the Twin Homes are located in the lakes and pines 4-season recreation area of northern Itasca County, Minnesota. Bigfork lies on the Edge of the Wilderness National Scenic Byway just 40 miles north of Grand Rapids, and 80 miles south of International Falls.

Nearby are the Chippewa National ForestScenic State Park, a network of snowmobile trails, canoe routes that travel north to the Rainy River and a 9-hole golf course. A 280-seat performance arts theateris just a couple of blocks away, hosting events throughout the year. An arts gallery attached to the theater is open four days a week with new monthly exhibits between April and November each year.

The community of Bigfork has small-town charm with basic shopping; dining; churches; and fire, police and ambulance services. A municipal airport lies just north of town. There are many scenic walks available, and a River Walk non-motorized walking trail is located along the Big Fork and Rice rivers.
